This blog is a reminder to love and appreciate your mom. It is also for anyone that has had to pick up the pieces and move on with life after losing their mom. It is especially dedicated to all the woman that face their own journey of raising a family without the guidance, love and support of their mom. *Note: This blog will have made up words, wrong grammar but lots of truth. This is just a blog of me talking to you.

My Mom

I will start with my relationship with mom. It was unique, genuine and fun! We thought just the same…literally, we could have conversations without talking!! Growing up, we always “clicked” on a different level. It’s almost as though God knew that our time was limited, so he made our time wonderful! I went to school where she was principal, so obviously we spend a lot of time together! We started to become true friends when high school came around. We would lay in my bed and talk, talk, talk! Even when I was going through my “wild teenage” phase, mom was still very much a friend and role model. My friends and I would wake her up when we got home at midnight….we would make her talk with us and play pranks on our friends. We laughed SO hard together!!

As I aged, we realized how similar we were. She would often laugh and say, “Gosh, I feel like I am watching myself 40 years ago!” We totally “got each other” like nobody else in the world!! Like I said, it’s like God was using every minute we had to the fullest! I look back and ask myself, “Why did I, just a normal college girl, save EVERY note and card from my mom? I even saved her little quick messages she wrote on napkins! I dated each one!!” Again, God knew that one day I would treasure them!
